It should come as no surprise that these human inventions should be valued; Nevertheless, we must never lose sight of the resources that nature provided us with to ward off environmental harm. What I mean is skin.
It has always been a very effective means of defense against ultraviolet rays, heat, cold, viruses, and bacteria, which constantly attempt to make our bodies their home for some time before gradually destroying them, despite the fact that it cannot protect us from a sword or a bullet.
Moreover, skin is a multifunctional part of the human body. Due to the expanding or contracting of blood vessels and the increased or decreased amount of liquid secreted by skin glands, thermoregulation assists us in adjusting to the temperature of the surrounding environment. Metabolic capability is acknowledged during the gas trade, water-salt digestion, and so on. After all, the sensation function of the skin allows us to experience the pleasure of touching.
To ensure that their armor would last as long as possible, knights probably took good care of it. We should also make every effort to keep skin in good working order and to make it look good.
Therefore, for beautiful and healthy skin, it is desirable to:
- Avoid the sun because the ultraviolet rays it emits have the most damaging effects on the structure of the skin, making it dry, thin, wrinkled, and covered in age spots. Additionally, they may cause skin cancer;
- quit smoking because nicotine is said to affect skin in the same way that sunlight does;
- properly clean and moisturize the skin (scrubs, creams, ointments, and lotions can be very helpful here);
- adhere to a healthy diet that includes a lot of fruits and vegetables to give your skin all the vitamins it needs. Drinking a lot of water works on its state too;
- Avoid stress because the skin serves as a mirror for the mind and reflects everything that is going on.
When we are young, taking care of our skin is simple. Smooth and plump, it probably only requires proper cleaning (with the exception of skin diseases).
On the other hand, getting older emphasizes our flaws and takes away our beauty. The end result is skin that is dry, thin, and wrinkled. At this point, it takes a lot of skill and effort to keep our natural body covers looking good.
